Miles from Carnegie Pa. To Pittsburgh?
| | Following
his event packed visit to the National Convention in Connecticut, Sean McBride
Div.32, Carnegie (Pittsburgh) Pa., President Denny Donnelly could hardly wait
to share his experience with the division members at their next meeting. One of
the more memorable events at the convention being the meeting with Fr. Aidan Troy
from "The Church of The Holy Cross". With the memories of last
year's horrible abuse of the families and children who attend Holy Cross girls
School, Fr. Troy's appeal for moral and financial support would not fall on deaf
ears. Because of another very successful annual fundraiser ("Div. 32 Irish
Open", chaired by brother Bill Delaney), the Division approved a $1,000 donation
to The Holy Cross Ardoyne Trust. Knowing that Belfast was on the itinerary
for their September vacation in Ireland, brother Jeff Kaduck and wife Ann volunteered
to hand deliver the check.

| And
what better place to meet Father Troy than at the "Pittsburgh Bar & Restaurant",
located in the Brookfield Business Centre, just yards from the Church of Holy
Cross and blocks from Holy Cross School for Girls.
| | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | While
waiting for Fr. Troy to arrive, barman Colin reflected on his personal experience
during last year's atrocity. He also explained why "The Pittsburgh"
came to be and how "The Flax Trust" (owners of Brookfield Business Centre)
works to eliminate community tension and religious prejudice in the Ardoyne area.

| | | | Then,
it was off for a tour of Holy Cross Girl's School to see room after room of smiling
face's, and hear story upon story of countless cards and letters sent from American
Hibernian's and overwhelming appreciation from the entire faculty.
