Jim Lamb, president of the Ireland Institute in Pittsburgh, was sworn in as an honorary Irish consulate by Michael Collins, Ambassador of Ireland to the United States. The honorary consulate, one of several Ireland has opened in the US, is part of a push by the foreign affairs ministry to expand its diplomatic network in the US.
