2012 PITTSBURGH MISS SMILING IRISH EYES

 The search is on!

 We invite local young women of Irish Descent to apply to be crowned the 50 th Annual Miss Smiling Irish Eyes!!

 Qualified Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

•  Be a single woman, of Irish birth or descent, currently residing in the Pittsburgh area;

•  Be between the ages of 17 and 22 years;

•  The ability to be an outstanding representative of the Irish Community of Pittsburgh, by demonstrating excellent moral character, ethical ideals, and poise;

•  The winner will actively promote her pride in her Irish heritage and ancestry, and show a dedicated involvement to local civic and charitable organizations.

*If selected, winner must be prepared to give short interviews to local television, radio, and newspaper outlets upon request, and must be available to participate in various festivities held the week prior to the St. Patrick's Day Parade, which takes place on March 17, 2012.

To apply, eligible candidates must send a complete resume, including the following information:

•  Name, Residential Address, Preferred Phone Number, and E-Mail address

•  Detailed background of Irish Ancestry, including personal or family involvement in the Irish Community

•  Academic Achievements

•  Volunteer Efforts, including organizations and duration of service

•  Extracurricular Activities, such as participation in Academic, Athletic, or other Scholastic Organizations

•  Personal or Professional Accomplishments pertaining to her ability to represent the City of Pittsburgh and its Irish Community

•  Individual Ambitions or Personal Goals

Applicants must also include a recent, high-resolution photograph or head shot, preferably 9”x 5” in size. Photographs will not be returned , unless applicant provides a self-addressed, stamped envelope for this purpose.
