Dear Friends of the Pittsburgh Irish Community:
We are excited to announce that the search is underway for 2010 Saint Brigid Court woman who models the “Spirit of the Fighting Irish!”
The Saint Brigid Court was conceptualized by Maggie Cloonan to honor a Pittsburgh woman, who dealing with illness, has exemplified courage and grand will in the face of adversity. This marks the 13 th year for the Saint Brigid Court and the committee is searching for another deserving woman.
In addition to the parade week festivities and participation in the parade; the recipient is given $500.00. We must raise the gift amount in addition to other costs the committee incurs; i.e. printing, mailing and general expenses. We have managed to work with a small overhead operating capacity because we believe in sharing our wealth with the Saint Brigid winner. We also share the money raised with a family in need; but that amount is determined after all of the above are paid for in full.
We extend our gratitude for your past generosity and support of the Saint Brigid Court . To continue this great award, we ask that you participate once again to help keep this tradition strong. It is because of your support that the wonderful festivities of the Saint Brigid Court make for a memorable experience for the recipient.
Please keep this tradition strong!
Donations are to be submitted with checks payable to: Irish Society for Education and Charity.
